2 comps for The Witch of Eden Hollow
- Slewfoot by Brom: The bitter finality of embracing what people claim you are, whether out of spite or survival
- The Wicker Man (1973): An outsider’s faith is challenged when encountering a town turned cult that may have sinister intentions.
What are two piece of media that work as comp titles for your book/wip? What aspects of that media most relate to your book? #WritingPrompt

SLEWFOOT

Slewfoot (Brom) - a widow accused of witchcraft gets revenge on her shitty, judgemental puritan village after she befriends a mysterious horned beast from the woods. God forbid women do anything!

Finished Slewfoot today, and I don't think I'll finish Afterlove before the new year so I guess that's it for me for 2025! 60 books read (23 were manga volumes so it's not as much as it sounds lol) #ReaderSky 💙📚

Read a lot of good books this year, with only a couple stinkers. After not getting the chance to read at all for many years, I am delighted to have read anything this year! 📚

The holiday gift I'm reading now: Slewfoot, by Brom. I also read The Child Thief years ago and enjoyed it immensely (for those who love Peter Pan). The art is, to me, the epitome of dark fantasy, and the story grips my New England imagination.

“At least cruelty was a thing that could be pointed out, confronted. But this belief, this absolute conviction that this evil they were doing was good, was God’s work—how, she wondered, how could such a dark conviction ever be overcome?” #Slewfoot #booksky 4.9 ⭐️s Highly recommend

Brom - Slewfoot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
That was so good!
A story of historical fiction set in a Puritan village of Conneticut, you know you will get religious fanaticism, misogyny and straight up toxic group dynamics - and boy oh boy do you get it all.

Santa vs. Krampus in a Super Smash Bros. battle across winter lol

This was pretty good! I liked Slewfoot better, but this was still a fun time!
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Krampus, Lord of the Yule? I thought not. It's not a story Santa would tell you.

Slewfoot by Brom. Some of the most imaginative and captivating literary illustrations out there. It definitely had a witchy New England vibe. #Horror #Folklore #BookSky 💙📚

I like it so far. I’m about halfway through. As of right now, though, I think Slewfoot is better. Have you read that Brom book yet?
