This morning I was fishing for fat rainbow stockies on a tight line. Nabbed a few in heavy current (lots of rain in VT) without too much trouble but was chasing fish downstream every time because of the heavy water. Next cast I hook up on my point fly and just as I begin the fight another fish of equal size takes my dropper. I backed in to slack water behind a boulder, one fish bumps the other and they both cut out into main current. My rod (10’ 4wt Elevare) promptly cracks at the butt section ferrule so now

Both 15” stockies but I’m happy as can be. Brought them back home; cleaned & ready to pack to the mom’s house for dinner soon!Posted by cclambert95

Probably a dumb question but I caught this guy in a lake on Vancouver island. Assumed it was a rainbow but the colouration and spots are very different from the local stockies. Am I looking at a bow (maybe a wild one) or a possibly a cut/cut bow?Posted by JGLS_2023

My buddy caught this interesting looking Rainbow Trout and I was curious about it because it was the first wild rainbow I seen, I've only caught and seen stockies from the local lakes and they look a hair different. This wild bow had the rainbow to him, but significantly darker spots on it as well, whereas the stockies were always brighter colors. Any insight?Posted by Cool_Elevator7250
