One of the background details of my current AH project is the Kimmenian Empire survives with its Mannuel I borders (minus Cilcia and Trebizond) alongside an Ottoman Empire with its capital in Damascus for centuries.
The Kommenian Empire is just a fundamentally more interesting more state.
