Hey @dianelacey.bsky.social , how could we get a list of all members of all WSFS committees? WSFS Site is not very helpful in this regard and the opacity of WSFS in this regard is not a good thing.

I just got half way through writing up a WSFS reform proposal I promised, and realised this was an awful lot of tiring work on writing up a complicated proposal, that was mainly going to get me shouted at, and it looks like the Hugos are so discredited that it feels like bailing out the titanic.

Perhaps I'm overly cynical. But it appears to me based on effects that what this really says is that individual *con committees* want to ensure they have no actual responsibility to the WSFS membership.
Because that's really the only benefit of the structure - no *internal* accountability.

I suspect that both answers are legally acceptable - trademarks indicate the quality associated with the mark, but that quality can be bad.

I mean I don't think WSFS has the money. They have the committee who was supposed to make sure the mark is protected, which includes at least one lawyer who doesn't practice in IP let alone trademark.
