Beavers and water voles are nature's long-time neighbours.

They're crap at promoting themselves so let me. You see the breeding progs -wildcats, watervoles; beaver compound, w/ hide; the RW area w/ amazing trees. Shepherd's hut much cheaper than K**** when we went.
Just don't pre-book the taxi if you go by train.

Once a common riverside sight, the water vole nearly vanished due to habitat loss, pollution & mink predation.

Now, it’s making a slow but inspiring return writes Kate Moore

Endangered – the remarkable water vole is making a comeback
Predation, pollution, climate change and habitat loss made Kenneth Grahame's Ratty one of the UK's most endangered species. But wildlife trusts are on the case

ALWAYS repost watervoles.
From the birdsong in our streets to rivers that run clean: nature matters. And it’s under threat.

In 3 days time, on Weds 9 July, we’re heading to Westminster to call for urgent action for people, climate, and nature.

Will you be a part of this moment?

A lovely article on water vole conservation, which is all about the @inccymru.bsky.social using edible glitter to track and monitor water voles!

Water voles are almost extinct in Wales - could glitter save them?
It is hoped edible glitter could help conservationists to track the shy species in the wild.
