#ZuluSCSI
I have written a new blog looking at my detailed build of the recently released Old Blue Workbench upgrade for Workbench 1.3 #Amiga systems. This build was done on my v1.3 #Amiga500 with A590 and #ZuluSCSI. I hope you enjoy it. www.epsilonsworld.com/2025/10/old-... #oldblueworkbench #retrocomputing
Old Blue Workbench build on Amiga 500
For those Amiga users who have owned an Amiga back in the 1980's, you would be very familiar with the original Workbench 1.2 and Workbench ...

Thanks to Alex of Rabbit Hole computing we are converting the remaining SCSI disk drives on our remote systems to #zuluscsi
Here is hkypux, an HP9000/715 running HP/UX 10.20

@decromancer.ca Any chance you'll be stocking the new ZuluSCSI Wide and/or Wide SCA?

…and got a zuluSCSI Pico Slim from Amigakit. It works perfectly as 7x512MB drives accessible on each SCSI ID of the sampler, but there’s still no way I can transfer the program & sample files to a computer because Akai formatted drives aren’t mountable on modern computers. The whole thing can get..

(1/2) And here's the incredible ArdSCSino Plus using this same method. What's so incredible about it? Like the ZuluSCSI Blaster, this SCSI emulator supports CD-DA playback with CD-ROM disc images! Unlike the ZuluSCSI Blaster, however, the ArdSCSino Plus exposes a simple 3.5mm audio jack.

They're cheap! But if you want CDDA, you need ArdSCSino Plus or ZuluSCSI Blaster. Less cheap.

(1/3) Using the amazing Boot Loader from CaptainYS (author of the Tsugaru emulator), FM Towns owners can leverage external SCSI CD-ROM drives (or CDDA-capable SCSI ODEs like ArdSCSino Blaster and ZuluSCSI Plus) to enjoy *some* software, even when their internal CD-ROM drive is dead!

It’s saved me from tearing my hair out here. Despite the forum posts saying .hda extension hard drive images can be made in MacOS Disk Utility, they absolutely can’t. Wish I still had my Amigas now, as I’d be kitting them with zuluSCSI card drives too

It’s finally arrived! Now I have to hope the sampler’s SCSI isn’t blown

And this is why Amigakit can’t deliver that zuluSCSI SD card reader fast enough

IB-109 clone for my S950 installed and seems to be working! Runs the ZIP drive just fine. Time for some more storage in a ZuluSCSI!

So glad to find a local ZuluSCSI reseller in @decromancer.ca. International shipping is just a whole .. thing .. these days.

I went for this because I didn’t fancy opening up the Akai again to install it www.amigakit.com/zuluscsi-pic...

As I wait for Amigakit to build me a zuluSCSI card reader for the Akai, I might…..*might*….think about putting a new mix together

Definitely not. Probably trust my old floppies more. In any case, working Zip drives & disks are likely just as pricey these days as a more modern, faster zuluSCSI adapter & SD card
September 8, 2025 at 10:34 PM
This one’s cheaper, mind. Seem it reads disk images, which won’t work for what I need but I’d read the zuluSCSI firmware has an update that does away with all the fiddly shit amigakit.amiga.store/zuluscsi-pic...

Trying to find a simple solution to backing up my old samples from floppy to SD card. Hard to find anything because everyone’s more interested in Akai S3000-to-computer connections. Wondering if this’d work www.amigakit.com/zuluscsi-pic...

I've recently been experimenting with older OS's on my SPARCstation 1 to try to understand what these machines were like at their time of release (hint: they were great), and I got SunOS 4.1.3 booting on it with the help of a #ZuluSCSI. 5/7

I think I found the problem with my Mac LC III's power supply...

Couldn't figure out why some things had lights (ZuluSCSI and network card) but not the system board. The yellow is the 12V connection...and it's corroded and broken the pin off. All the […]

@starkitty.gay in case you need cheering up, I also finally had success in my ZuluSCSI vs. SPARCstation LX cage fight:

Picked up a ZuluSCSI drive emulator from Alex at Rabbit Hole Computing. I felt bad because I have been using his competitor’s device. Happy to have this! #vcfwest #zuluscsi

Stumping up the courage to sell this little gem. I love it dearly but it is not really boat-appropriate.

It's pretty pimped out:
40MHz 68040 CPU upgrade w/128KB cache card
Greyscale mod
Ethernet(!)
ZuluSCSI Emulator
Uprated power supply

I guess hmu if you're after an extremely rare old computer

I'm getting my step count in by having to walk across the room to test out some C++/assembler on an 80186 machine. I may have to get lazy and do something with ZuluSCSI and develop *on* the target machine
July 16, 2025 at 6:46 PM
Me too - although I'm struggling with ZuluSCSI on it :-(
