His early work like Blame is much more a vibe than plotting and characterization. I think he might've had some intentions of becoming an architect before the manga stuff took off. Blame & Biomega jive well. Then Knights of Sidonia & Aposimz are kinda of a piece. We'll see what happens with TD.

You can feel the difference here. Sanakan from Blame and Zoichi from Biomega. Both are robots/synthetic beings whatever you call it. BUT.
Sanakan has no need to appear human so she has a human shape and a lot of very robotic details.
While Zoichi and others of his ilk look more human.

I genuinely think Tower Dungeon might be Nihei at his absolute best. I love the more minimal yet 'fat' linework, especially after years of reading Biomega, Blame, Noise, and his other works. His character writing also feels a LOT more defined.
