Try again, Cutch.

The Christmas truce still holds...

Need to get Okamoto and then we have a team to be excited about, maybe see if Cutch will comeback for a DH/bench/coach role

Poor Cutch 😢
December 23, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Awesome! This probably means Cutch is gone. But need Okamoto now

Cutch 1000% does not have a spot in the 26-man roster next season

I think the Pirates off-season proceeds like this. They prioritize 3B and what they spend there determines what they do at DH. If they end up with Murakama, Okamoto, or Suarez, I think they bring Cutch back to DH. If they land Moncada or trade for Bohm, I think they sign someone like Arraez

This trade makes a Cutch reunion more realistic for Pirates fans like myself who hate the idea of him retiring elsewhere.

If he recreates the McCutchen pic, I'll be an El Bombi fan FOREVER.

It is so good to see collaborations in our community, like this one with Madder Cutch & Co and The Stamford Notebook Company. These sketch books covered in linen fabric would make a fantastic gift for a creative person.

I am far enough removed from this to let it lie, but any time I saw Cutch in Milwaukee my full body would convulse

Cutch belongs in Pittsburgh. So did Neil Walker and Bednar. I don’t fault them for going for more money or more competitive teams. I fault ownership for not trying here.
December 10, 2025 at 6:44 PM
You better be referring to Cutch and not Paul Skenes with that comparison
December 10, 2025 at 12:27 AM
Somewhere there's a dimension where the team spent league average money the last two years and Cutch got to bring playoff baseball back to Pittsburgh on his farewell tour
December 9, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Frankly it's hard to read the Bucs being in on spending $30mil+ annually on the DH as bad news, but it does mean one thing almost for sure: Cutch isn't coming back

I love Cutch and he had a decent year last year.
December 8, 2025 at 1:56 PM
Dave Parker way better than Cutch or Mattingly. More hits, HRs, better defender, maybe best arm in history. Two time WS.
December 8, 2025 at 1:26 AM
As a Pirates fan I love Cutch, but he's in the Hall of Not Quite Enough.

I feel the same way about the Cobra, who belongs in the Baddest Man on Earth Hall of Fame but not Cooperstown.

You need about 60 WAR to be in the conversation for the HoF. Clutch is at 49 bWAR with maybe a year left in him.
