One of the actual models is truth and reconcilation committees (as has taken place in Rwanda and Guatemala regarding their genocides, and has taken place in South Africa regarding its 40 years of Christian Nationalist rule under apartheid) to bring offenders to justice and bring evil to light

kamala would never have let the mask slip during her genocides

The United States is the world's largest arms exporter, selling weapons to over 60 nations.... funny how you select one SPECIFIC client? Where's your outrage about the 200,000 Syrians massacre under assad, Congo, Rwanda, Darfur.... genocides globally. Who sells weapons to THEM? Is it Biden too?

“At least a dozen people resigning from the administration because of their support for one of the most brutal genocides of the 21st century and the presidential candidate refusing to meet demands of a large part of their base going into the convention was not a self-own and voters failed not Dems”

I think one party dictatorships that commit multiple genocides and other atrocities are bad, actually.
its another cool thing that marxists can look at the USSR and go "yeah, this stuff was bad, we should probably not do that again but overall, it was a force for good and should be (and is bring) replicated, and all the mythologising in the world of your nazi grandpas wont change that

"Ahhhh, I'll take "Genocides NOT Caused By Religion" for $200 Alex"

It would be political suicide to advocate for intervening in all of the genocides, even though we have the most powerful military in the world and the ability to save a ton of lives. So we have to look the other way and it is evil. Allowing people who could be saved to die is a form of evil.

Just a reminder that for all the outrage on here about various political shit shows, human rights abuses and genocides, most people not on here aren’t aware of them and generally don’t give a shit.

Why are you shocked? If you know anything about America violence and oppression is the literal norm here. We have had multiple ongoing genocides in the U.S. since its inception. So why would Americans care about violence it perpetuates outside of the U.S.?

They were criminals. They tried to commit multiple genocides. That should be a death penalty crime, every last person who participated. And those who didn't participate but were complicit should have all gone to prison so they couldn't teach their kids and grandkids to be Nazis.

Recent genocides (post-1945): Cambodia '75-79 (1.4-3M dead); Rwanda '94 (491K-800K); Bosnia '92-95 (31K-62K); Darfur '03-20 (98K-500K); Yazidi '14-17 (2K-5K); Rohingya '16+ (9K-43K). Estimates vary; direct deaths only. #GenocideAwareness

I'm not, I'm making the point that the US isn't as different as China when it comes to treatment of a large number of citizenry, including indoctrination, genocides, and a fixed view on the way life should be, so to critique China for using espionage and co-ercion to get ahead is more of a mirror.

There is no good faction in the 40k universe, just lesser destructive ones. The Imperium may be less destructive than Chaos but they are still plenty destructive with how many planets they nuke, how many genocides they've done, how many people they've lobotomized or sacrificed to the Golden Throne

W/o taking time to get a doctorate in world history, I’m going to say I’d be shocked if fascism/xenophobia began w/KKK. Humans are clannish creatures, and the current population somehow survived eons of wars, pogroms and outright genocides. The KKK can't take all the blame even if they want to!

It’s hard to trust global institutions much with their decades of inaction regarding genocides. I’m not sure we’d see the results we want with their unlikely intervention.

I don’t know much about how that would go down though so maybe I’m off.

#wexit you hate Canada because you (mistakenly) think you can localize your chauvinistic bootlicking.
We hate Canada because of its colonial apartheid regime that has sponsored attacks on its own people and inspired historical genocides.
We are not the same.

Many atrocities and genocides have happened since the 1940s too.

today, the American government is targeting the Somali community. The American government has committed massacres of civilians, from Vietnam to Iraq.

russia has done, and is doing, the same.

No need to look back.

It's ongoing.

Every time I post about abolishing ICE and the genocides happening in Palestine, Congo and Sudan I get a flood of hateful messages from people I grew up with. I’m not surprised, I mean I live in Utah.

US has literally funded and actively help in multiple genocides, regime changes, dictatorships, war crimes, and so much more around the globe. This is almost always done to serve corporate interests, especially if it’s a socialist country that is denying those corporations access to their resources.

if Israel is truly doing something so singularly horrible that no other state is doing it, I'd criticize them

this isn't the case, given that there's genocides in places like Sudan going on right now that are worse than Gaza

Genocides i inútils amb públic fan el ridícul del tot.

False accusations of genocide getting all the attention because it's Israel. Actual genocides at the hands of Islamists, nothing to see here.

Victoria Eginian, River's great aunt and namesake, does not appear "on-screen," but is a significant presence nonetheless. A seamstress who survived two genocides. As River goes no-contact with her parents, it's her great aunt's stories and keepsakes that she finds comfort in.

No, I pointed out how you couldn't actually think of any.

You seem to think that acknowledging that genocides are happening means that American citizens benefit from them.

Paying taxes is still not a benefit. It's quite literally a tax.
