Another hard-to-photograph plant: Rayless Greenthread (Thelesperma megapotamicum). The entire plant can be used to make what has been called by several sources a tasty tea! In fact, one name for it is "Hopi Tea." Another cool use: the leaves make a reddish-brown dye & the flowers make a yellow dye.

Occasionally I pass an older graveyard with lovely older statuary and stones. This time of year it is always full of small yellow flowers and I always think about stopping to take some photos. I finally did this morning.

We are having an outstanding (🥳) winter sowing year so far. Yesterday’s rainy day was my first check of every jug. I put 5 new ones out so we are at 124 total and we already have 25 with germination. 20% success by 1st day of spring? Yay! #gardening #organic-gardening #GYO #seeds 🌱

In my few days in Texas for the eclipse, I managed to see Moss Verbana, Mealy Blue Sage, Lazy Daisy, Musk Thistle & Stiff Greenthread (all were along the side of the road).

Spring is in full force in the neighborhood. I’m kinda laughing at myself that I figured I’d *never* see the same wildflowers that I’d see on the greenway after moving to this subdivision. Texas native blooms thread! 🌿🧵

hojicha is truly the most Leaf Water of all teas. it's a lot like greenthread in that, when i'm drinking it, all i'm thinking is "this is heaven" while at the same exact time i cannot forget that i know someone who doesn't Drink Actual Tea would 100% not get it and toss the whole batch if they tried
