Thank you for your interest in joining Discord's first Teen Council!
As a council member, you'll share your perspectives on Discord features, safety and wellbeing tools, and help create resources that make Discord better for teens and families. You'll collaborate with Discord teams on safety initiatives, educational resources, and platform improvements that matter to teens.
Before You Start
A few important things to know:
• You must be 13-17 years old and living in the US to apply.
• Parent or guardian consent is required. After you submit this application, your parent/guardian will need to complete a separate permission form.
• This is a written application only - no videos required. Please answer all questions thoughtfully and honestly.
• Application process: If selected as a finalist, you'll be invited to a 20-minute virtual interview (your parent/guardian can join). Final decisions will be made by mid-July 2026.
• Privacy: Your application information will only be used for Teen Council selection. If you're not selected, we'll delete your application data within 30 days following the close of the Teen Council program.
• Time commitment: The council runs September 2026 - May 2027, with monthly 90-minute virtual meetings. You must be able to commit to at least 7 of 9 meetings.
Ready to apply? Plan for about 45 minutes to complete the application--though some people finish faster and others take longer. Make sure your parent or guardian is nearby to complete their section (required).

TBF, for us there's no tryouts , everyone who want to be in whatever sport can be, it's an after club school activity like any other and we don't have scholarship for sports or anything so highschool sports is not that great or important.

Yeah so I come from South Africa and back in the day when I was in school AIDs was a big deal and the system assumed teens would fuck and so between Grade 7 and 8 we had pretty good sex ed. Then more in highschool. I found out over the weekend that friends didn't get the same it was up to the school

There is no 'official' language in the US, primarily school is *typically* taught in English, and depending on funding you will see alternative options once you reach middle and highschool. Some schools do include Spanish as part of primary classes now, but that's relatively new (post 2000).
