Tomorrow, for Holiday Spirit Week, is "25 Days of Giving Charity Shirt Day" to support your favorite fundraising targets, and since I don't have a PTKU shirt, it's another Michigan hockey jersey for the Money Cannon.

Find yourself a song that you love as much as MNF loves "Lunatic Fringe" this year.

Just thinking about one of my favorite Futurama jokes about Fry's mother remembering the day he disappeared and saying Wisconsin beat Stanford in the Rose Bowl 17-9.

Kevin's pizza in Home Alone would run about $29 today. I guess delivery charges really were more back then.

one of my favorite realizations re: adulthood is how much deep pleasure you get out of building things and helping people. all the more when you do it as part of a group. it shows up in every aspect of your life when you look for ways to TRULY help/build, devoid of ego or status. +

While solo George, "Freedom '90" is not only a perfect song, it might be on my list of twenty favorite songs all-time, no restrictions.
Wham! had some real bangers, holy shit

Wait, is the Great Divide Trophy up for grabs this weekend in Cat-Griz?

I don't know what the policy is for playoff meetings.

We're on a solid four minutes of an alarm going off in a student's backpack because he is on a trip to the restroom. That is a very loud alarm.

I try to remember alt-text especially on posts that might break contain, but today's "THIS SMELLS AWFUL. HERE, SMELL THIS" DJT screenshot is a great reminder that muted terms in alt-text also get muted/filtered. Please use it, so I don't have to see you be the 150th person to RT that bullshit.

Somehow @sepinwall.bsky.social published a beautiful eulogy for Rob Reiner overnight. I woke up saddened by the news of his passing, and this piece—celebrating his life and work—was exactly what I needed to read.

Rob Reiner was a master who didn't care if you noticed
A tribute to the late, great 'All in the Family' star and director of movie classics like 'This Is Spinal Tap' and 'The Princess Bride'

For the DUAN old heads, today marks the 18th anniversary of the night I met my wife, and like just started gushing about her in the comments.

I wouldn't mind "can cut a solid five figure check for a good cause without blinking" rich.
I want to be "no longer sets an alarm" rich

I support the athletes on the football team… beyond that, it’s complicated.

Rob Reiner: I'm going to make a coming of age drama, a fantasy adventure story, a romantic comedy, a psychological horror and then a courtroom drama.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

A friend has asked me if I can write a guide to getting a GenZ up to speed on Star Trek. You have just invited a pop culture vampire into your home.

His tiny knotted heart
Well, I guess it never worked too good
The timber tore apart
And the water gorged the wood
You can hear her whispered prayer
For men at masts that always lean
The same wind that moves her hair
Moves her boy through Fiddler's Green

It's Pajama Day at school for Winter Spirit Week, and how in the hell do the kids do this every day? Wearing pajama pants out in public just feels off.

(Is that because I'm wearing them over my khakis because I have errands to run after school? Mind your business.)

During Orientation at Michigan in June 1996, someone had made a demo presentation that was running on one of the computers in the library we were meeting in and every four minutes, this exact sequence played at full volume, utterly befuddling the person leading the meeting.
