Hikarigaoka Station featured in Ohrangers, 1995 hasn't changed much. Seems like most of it is shot in the Saitama area which I guess is cheaper than shooting the show in Tokyo every episode.

We went to Lohas Festa in Hikarigaoka Park, which was a market place for promoting and selling sustainable goods. It was a nice sunny day and I enjoyed looking at all the goods on offer

As we approached Hikarigaoka Park, there was a fence surrounding the road around the park.. it was mildly tempting to just jump over the fence but wait.. a sign that says ダメ dame or “forbidden” or “don’t do”. Oops they outsmarted me, now to cross the road at the crosswalk like a good citizen

We walked by a Google Street View car in Tokyo near Hikarigaoka Park. It takes pictures that enable street view in Google Maps to work. The vehicles in Japan are smaller than the ones I’ve seen in the USA and Canada , I think mainly because many streets are narrow in Japan

POV: Vamdemon *struggling* to find the eighth Chosen Child when Taichi’s family took the first Shinkansen out of Hikarigaoka & are long gone & the search is driving the bloodsucker to drink plenty of the humans’ alcohol. (He’s also a lightweight.)

Sets up the Hikarigaoka incident with lovely Mamoru Hosoda animation. Hikari whistles instead of speaks. Delightful little film. Definitely recommend watching.

Plus, the addition of the Hikarigaoka kids all knowing each other prior to the events of Adventure, like Joe calling Mimi and Izzy on the phone and Sora knowing Tai’s name, goes directly against Adventure canon in a pretty big way.

Apart from me feeling that BlackWarGreymon’s arc is dragged out a little too long for my liking, with too much of it being violence with not enough introspection, he also ends by unceremoniously dying and sealing the Hikarigaoka gate to the Digital World.

Rui: • Taichi's little junior, awkward kid who had been always around since they all lived in Hikarigaoka., • didn't move to Odaiba tho but still had contact with him + Hikari., • ended up in the DW when a weird "rock" came out of nowhere (yeah, the ep 1 three lights? just imagine one... travelled from Odaiba to an elementary school in Hikarigaoka idk, for comedic purposes), was at the computer lab when "rock" came in by the window, and obviously his bad luck the computer he was using opened a gate and sent him to the DW, • found Taichi somehow, also met Hikari and this new kid named Takeru., • he doesn't have a big clash with Daisuke but more likely understood how he felt (also gay awakening??), • idk what else, if Ukko evolved with Digimentals or not..., • he lets the rest of the group lead 'em, but he got the guts to do reckless things, • still same BG from canon, tho nerfed a little (parents still be ass and abusive and die, anyway, he's raised by his cousin Yuna's family), • oh yeah, no digi-eye accident, he hurt his right eye on Aug 1st-3rd 1999 digi-events anyways. (i remember they had an ep in Hikarigaoka in Adv'99?) Daisuke: • simpleton idiot who's loud but no friends, tryhard. Taichi-Hikari's other junior and neighbor in Odaiba, he's not even famous lmao • this family is normal, and no one dies, but the events of Aug 3rd 1999 caused him strong paranoia and fear about the digimon invading the human world and hurting people again • does not remember well about the Chosen Children, and Oikawa had connections to his family instead, and after Hiroki's death, he quit his scientist job and went to work with publishing. • just like we don't even know how Ken became a Chosen in 02, i think it's not a must to think too hard about Daisuke? anyways, he get a digivice circa 2000 and went to an Adventure with someone else (maybe Wallac--), became V-mon's partner and got Dark-Seed-ed so it made his paranoia go worse. • the "Kaiser" Daisuke is not like Ken obviously and he's just a pathetic scaredy boy wanting to use those ideas he got in head (the seed? probably telling him to do this and that in order to revive Millenniummon i guess?) and using it to counter the digimon by brainwashing them • he only stops doing it not because of Chimeramon'ing things, but because the group gave him some good sense before things went bad (since he never believed it was a game so the whole showdown is them trying to beat the shit out of him and Fladramon/Lighdramon and making him stop assuming every digimon is evil) (tbh this sounds like Savers Kurata but i do feel if Daisuke had no memories of Taichi being a cool hero with the digimon, he would probably be like that. luckily we know he's not a scumbag so he would repent and apologize for the mess he caused) • he becomes friends with the 02 group and they all work against ArukeniMummy + Oikawa i guess....? Ken: • once again he's getting a dose of ANGST if Rui's parents weren't that bad here but still died, Ken's parents are just completely being the fandom's belief of douchebags (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) so they still live, Osamu dies (differently, but more later), and they are neglecting the heck out of him, • Ken's partner, Wormmon, came in and they formed a partnership, • Wormmon was not like Ukkomon so the promises they made was that he would help Ken get protection and meet the future Chosen Children who are supposed to be part of his friend's circle., • Despite the emotional negligence Ken at least had Wormmon! oh and somehow Osamu's classmate who would be there time-to-time to pamper him, Ryo. Osamu wasn't a bad sibling tho, just... stressed af., • a digimon event in 2000 forced Ken and Wormmon to show up and fight, they go but Osamu gets in their way like a panicked mom figure. said digimon attack Ken and hurt his eye, while Osamu dies trying to protect him., • Ken believe it was HIS fault that Osamu died and starts to loathing the digimon, believing that Wormmon is malicious and a mean critter, so he tries to destroy the digivice, except he couldn't. tho the digivice does not "fly" into his face, he just throws it on the floor out of hate and steps on it. Wormmon gets scared of it and reverts into a digiegg., • despite everything, Ken couldn't commit to destroy the egg, so he kept the pocket egg in his pocket for years., • the injury in his right eye turned into a body horror nightmare because it's corrupted by digital data, so he has to hide it., • idk how they would solve the issue, but maybe Egg disappears from his room, gets bigger... i'll just copy+paste a bit of 02TB here lol, but no "BigWormmon" critter, just... big egg...? and Wormmon is not forcing people to become partners, but might hatch into a corrupted digimon anyways, so 02 group need to give Ken a vibe check.
