My favorite is the incredibly obtuse Fifth Edition rewordings that made everything worse
The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Drain Life, which turned what is now an X in the casting cost into an activated ability The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Island Sanctuary, which turned what is now a triggered ability into an activated ability The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Dandân, which uses the deprecated keyword Islandhome instead of writing out its rules text The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Sand Silos. The rules text is nearly unchanged from the current wording, but it does represent early MTG cards whose mechanics were fairly intuitive but proved too difficult to cleanly convey in a rigorous way within the rules of the game. Mark Rosewater, head designer of MTG, has referred to this as the "suspend problem".

it's a weird spinoff format where both players use a single shared deck. Most of the counterspells and bounce do topdeck control, and Dandan is the only creature. Because it has Islandhome, color change is removall, and changing BEB to counter Blue, only to be changed back and fizzle is common

For those in my community who don't know. Look at this card. It's just a silly boat.
The card Dandan which is a Magic the Gathering card that costs 2 blue mana that has the ability Islandhome which states it cannot attack if the defending player does not have islands and if you control no islands it dies. The whole format revolves around always being able to attack with this card.

Working on campaign things for Against the Fall of Night and I ended up with enough distinct campaign options that I needed to create a Campaign Setup section and I actually think this is a good thing to have added.

It's like character creation, but for the GM. This is what it has for steps so far

When DD enters, conjure eight copies of Memory Lapse and shuffle them into your library. Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery, target land becomes a basic Island until end of turn.
