#mk4s
I have the older version of the Prusa MK4S 3D Printer.
Current cost is about $925 (USD)
Cheaper if you buy the kit and build it yourself.

So my Prusa MK3s has served me well for a long time, but it now needs some work on the hotend. So I went ahead and spotted a used Prusa MK4s and so far I'm pretty thrilled. Living on my kitchen counter for now because not sure where to put it.

Yeah, and manual filament changes and stuff. At least on the Prusa MK4s I usually use it still feels like a crap shoot

Agreed that there have been and are better options for price/performance. I got my MK4S for €700 & am happy with it.

Snapmaker U1 looks great tbh and I'm glad there's a good, affordable, more open bambu contender, it's something the market needed for a while. Will recommend it to friends over bambu

That was during Evo's '911 is God and must win everything' period.

Autocar did something similar with the Mk4 Golf - to the point that I stopped reading magazines altogether for three to four years.

I drove lots of Mk4s and couldn't see what the fuck they were on about.

i've been eyeing a prusa mk4s w/ mmu, not that i'm going to have the money to spend on a 3d printer for a long, long time

so i just keep repairing and using my 10 year old reprap.

maybe i'll build an MMU for it

The radars, which are being manufactured under a £453m contract, aim to improve on the capability already provided by the existing ECRS Mk2

a Dire Scrungo inspired by the sort of metal RT and early 2E mk4s as a separate bit would be awesome

I'm just calibrating a new printer and having a Not Primaris helmet for some True Scale Scrungos would be very fun, for me personally

I love the new purges in the @prusa3d.com firmware update on my MK4S printers! They look like little swords with artistic hilts. I almost hate to toss them. Hence the accumulation in my workspace. 😆

I got a Prusa MK4S last year (single material) and it's just ridiculous how much better it works than circa-2016 makerbot/ultimaker/etc. Prusa is more expensive but maybe you get what you pay for? Office-mate has a Bambu and says the multi-material works great.

I just did! My MK4S printers have these now. They tempt me to try some more interesting materials . . . 🤔

Here's a specific 3MF for this particular whistle. It's set up for the MK4S with a 0.4mm nozzle and Prusament. Feel free to change these settings for your particular setup in Prusa Slicer.

I modified the bridging angle to avoid long overhangs.

I know we have someone who uses a Prusa MK4S, but it's not me.
January 13, 2026 at 3:03 AM
do you know if there's a way to get a print profile for a MK4S?
January 13, 2026 at 1:42 AM
Or get a Prusa. Huge fan of our MK4S.

Going back with some more regular Twitch planning with the usual 3D modeling Tuesday and gaming Thursday, and on Saturday (afternoon) I'll upgrade my Prusa MK4 into MK4S since I cannot find other time to do it 😄

Original seats of 158s/159s and 442s were much better than those of Mk4s

That's a pretty great deal.
I am considering selling one of my favourite printers - the MK4S. It's barely run in, unlike most of the machines here, entirely because I only have one of it - almost all jobs end up on the machines I have 12-25 of!
I would love to switch to a majority Prusa print farm.

Had to rebuild and clean out my hotend on my prusa mk4s after a pretty bad jam (first ever) that caused filament to push out in places I didn't know filament could go. It was like how they show bad plumbers in movies with water coming out of places there shouldn't be water. It was bad.

I got a […]

Done and printing! 😊
For now I'm calling it my Prusa MK4SW with "W" for "Wannabe" since I skipped a couple steps. Hahaha! It sits alongside my other MK4S and XL. I think I'm really going to like this setup. ObXidian HF nozzle too! @prusa3d.com

Started my Prusa MK4 to MK4S upgrade yesterday. Skipped the y-axis and xLCD cover and it still took me half a day and I still haven't finished.🫤 Tinkering is not my forte. I also learned that my MK4 had expelled both heater grub screws on its own! Fortunately, I found one. @prusa3d.com

I got a bit carried away with the Sunlu #3dprinting filament connector.
Turns out one can indeed #reuse the PTFE sleeves - at least 20 times if careful...
This mongrel spool has printed without issue on a @bambulabglobal.bsky.social P1S, @prusa3d.com MK4S and @e3donline.bsky.social Revo + Titan
