I've directed some documentaries too but they were all micro/no budget affairs. I once drew up budgets for a slate of eight docs me and three other directors I know were going to make between us. The money we had for all eight feature films was under a million, around £1.65 million now.

I think it's hard for a minority that cares about ppl to do battle w one who doesn't. I think the GOP would fund ICE w/o Dems. Funding ICE w/o Dem input = a larger budget, no training, no cameras. I think if Dems kept the GOV shutdown the GOP would abolish the filibuster & make it harder to vote.

Forget that. The Dems in the Senate should not allow monies for homeland security or ICE until they are out of our cities. Secondly, whatever is allowed in the budget must have a provision that no funding can be diverted toward these entities by Trump or Congress.

This is basically what Schumer said about the budget bill in September. What that turned out to be was voting for the bill to proceed (no filibuster) but voted against the bill when only a majority was required. The bill passed. Don’t take anything Schumer says at face value.

Senate Dems had better block the funding package and any others to come. There is no way that most parts of the government should get another DIME, much less the amounts they are considering. Increasing the defense budget would be just asking for trouble, and we have more than enough already.

It won’t shut down if the Fascists want it open. They can change the rules to eliminate the 60 vote threshold or Cheeto Mussolini will realize no law requires a shutdown & just keep cutting checks according to the last budget. So far he believes a shutdown means he can do whatever he wants
