Fuck it. It's the October 10th. I'm going into full Donald Pleasence Devil's eyes monologue in the old Myers house mode and I shall not leave it until at least February.

On the October anniversary of the passage of the Iraq War resolution authorizing Bush (in 2002) to initiate that 20 yr interminable war, the ‘anti-war’ Pres Trump is sending American troops into the Middle East once again to support yet another foreign conflict…

history repeats…and we are all fools
X post: BREAKING via AP

US says it's sending about 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor Gaza ceasefire deal.

Bill Burr's whole appeal was built around no-BS observations. Now that we know he's full of shit when a seven-figure check clears (from one of the most oppressive regimes on the planet), he has zero value as a comic. His career should be over, but I see a booking at Trump's ballroom in his future.

I’m not kidding when I say these weird ass costumes and antics are actually an extremely effective tactic from a media standpoint bc when enough people do them, the media can’t fully scrub them out

honestly fu** you if you think gazans are only allowed to ask for help to cover their very basic necessities when they’re starving or being killed, calling a gazan a grifter for trying to secure her education proves that you don’t see gazans as humans who deserve to live equally.

"The consumers won't care if it's AI."

Ah yes, horror fans -- y'know, the people who famously ask "Are the FX Practical?!" about literally every movie -- definitely won't care that you're feeding them prompt-generated slop. Good call there.

9. This time, the backlash seems to be losing steam. If the far right can’t even muster a meaningful dent in Netflix’s bottom line, the balance of power may be shifting.

1. Anti-trans outrage is losing its bite.

Last week, Elon Musk led a mass boycott campaign to get trans characters removed from shows on the platform.

Major conservatives joined in.

Now, we have the result: the boycott was a fizzle, and Netflix stock is up.

Whenever anyone says how much of the U.S. economy is tied to AI right now, I'm like...damn, what if a single rich person had any idea other than "try to zero out labor costs through theft."

The thing to me is that if Nvidia is valued higher than like all of Big Pharma combined, the AI dream at this point can only pay off if it somehow manages to obliterate the entire need for white collar workers. And that will just cause mass unemployment and a consumer drought.

even if you 100% believe techbros it still makes no sense to invest in AI because at this point their promises are so utopian that ROI becomes totally meaningless. like, will i need an extra 10% on my 401k in utopia?

they created something thats actually harder to imagine than the end of capitalism

Take a look at the linked article. The images reek of white entitlement, the men all look like psychopaths and all the women look like startled trad wives.
