I loved ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER. Yes it speaks to this exact political moment but also it's thrilling and weird and hilarious. We need all that.

Okay, I don't know how this happened but somehow I wrote an essay for the Imprint release of HARD BOILED. I will be carrying it around showing it to strangers for now on.

Didn't it seem like they mostly had de-aging figured out at one point? Did they switch to some lazy a.i. method now or something?

I'm a sucker for a low key, down-to-earth crime movie, so I really liked Kelly Reichardt's THE MASTERMIND, about a not particularly impressive art heist.

Kelly Reichardt’s THE MASTERMIND is in a niche that really appeals to me: the unglamorous crime tale. It’s about an art heist, but there are zero

Jeffrey Epstein, a great, great guy. Very innocent and perhaps more innocent than anyone knows. And I had nothing to do with him. But he died like a dog and nobody thought we could do it but we did. They said sir the video will cut out for a few minutes and I said wow. And we'll see what happens

HOMEFRONT is an actual movie that was released in theaters and has been on physical media for more than a decade. You can't call it a Netflix movie now just because they temporarily have streaming rights.

Yes, this is the biggest problem currently going on in the world.

I still can't believe I'm seeing the mayor of Seattle at a podium talking about improving a bus route I use and about those of us who *want* to live in apartments. It never even occurred to me we'd ever have a mayor who cared that people like me exist in the city. Future mayors, you're on notice.

Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]

It's pretty funny that Bari Weiss is purposely trying to recruit all the shittiest people on earth to destroy CBS News but she has to fire them whenever it becomes public that they're THIS shitty.
“CBS News’ newest “star” contributor Peter Attia once chose to meet with Jeffrey Epstein—ignoring his wife’s plea to come to the hospital where their infant son was being treated.”

I enjoyed the Bautista/Momoa buddy movie THE WRECKING CREW. Their bickering isn't always funny but the action is very good and they're allowed to break down and be vulnerable, which is my favorite thing to see these actors do.

The new De La Soul album came out on physical media and I've been listening to it non-stop. There are some songs with Dave on it but largely it's dealing with the loss of him and the drive to keep his legacy alive. The overall feeling is of joy and gratitude for his life. It's really good.

Unfortunately I did not love Sam Raimi's stranded-on-a-desert-island movie SEND HELP as much as I do most of his other movies. But I love most Sam Raimi movies more than most other movies so it's still pretty fun.

Friends! This is a hilarious movie! I loved it so much I wrote the liner notes. It has puppets and slime and vulgarity and friendship and a knife fight inspired by the one in UNDER SIEGE. I wrote the liner notes for that too so I know what I'm talking about. Highly recommended.
