I think Jade would be the most unruly of the octatrio when sick because he would feel the need to do everything exactly as well as usual and find the idea of a little collapse thrilling and enlightening. Collapsed from exhaustion and a need to fully run his social experiment.

IIRC from the chapter 6 loredump with azul and the mermaid training camp, its implied that the octatrio are the only ones among their grade (at the very least) who are mermaids at NRC given the unpopularity of the land training camp and how mermaids canonically don't care enough to transition onto

Are you me? That was me a while ago, although less octatrio and more Floyd and Riddle. I’ve switched from spider solitaire to sudoku recently though.
Although I may need to knock it off again if I end up seeing the games every time I close my eyes (this is why I can’t play minesweeper anymore 😔)

My opinion on Azuls song is that I personally wish it was more jazzy. I really love that they incorporate piano for all of Azul's songs. Makes me yearn for an event where octatrio play their instruments. I can't wait to read the translation

on one hand, we know contact between land-dwellers and mer still isnt too common. and the octatrio are from an especially remote part of the coral sea, which is likely to have even less contact with humans (and be a viable breeding ground for the predjudice often seen in remote monocultural areas)
