Decades later, we remember their bravery, their resilience, and the moment that forever changed the course of our history.

We will always remember. 🇺🇸

#PearlHarborDay is observed annually in the United States on December 7, to remember and honor the 2,403 Americans who were killed in the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. The United States declared war on Japan #OnThisDay in 1941, entering World War II.

#PearlHarborDay always brings back unpleasant memories of bullying, harassment & racial slurs — ironic, given that I was a Korean adoptee born many years after the attack on Pearl Harbor & given that the country of my birth was itself invaded & occupied by Japan...

Cacerolazo (noise-making protest) - Beautiful Trouble
Let your resistance be heard loud and clear by making lots of noise en masse — banging pots and pans, blowing whistles, honking horns, or setting off cell-phone ringtones.

Went to dinner tonight. An older gentleman asked if any of us were historians. He proceeded to say it’s Pearl Harbor Day and hadn’t heard anything on the news today. He was very disappointed. For all the veterans, we appreciate your service. Shame on mainstream media. #PearlHarborDay

Blows my mind that 84 years ago this Sunday the Imperial Japanese Navy air raided Pearl Harbor in the belief that the decisive victory will keep the United States from interfering with their expansion into the Dutch East Indies, British Malay, and Singapore. But few people remember. #pearlharborday

America remembers Pearl Harbor today.

Arkansas remembers one of our own.

Seaman Samuel Cyrus Steiner of Winthrop was just 20 when he gave his life aboard the USS Oklahoma on 12/7/1941.

We honor his courage. We carry his legacy. We remember.

FADM Chester Nimitz believed the U.S was fortunate that the attack on Pearl Harbor came as a surprise. Had the U.S. known of the approaching Japanese fleet, the American fleet would have been sent to intercept it and then been entirely lost to a superior force. #PearlHarborDay
