I was down at the #Ottawa Traffic Cone Festival today on the #RideauCanal and saw this lone green cone just sitting there for no reason. Green means "go"!

Remember the #conefest motto: "traffic cones for no reason at all!!"

Here is a look at the #RideauCanal for #skating this morning. We got 9 cm of snow from 1500-2400 hrs, so it is covered in #snow this morning.

Personally I don't #skate when it is snow covered, as you can't see the bumps or cracks.

Here are some photos from this morning's #skate on the #RideauCanal. We got #skating in the morning to avoid the dropping temps and high winds this afternoon, but it was still -14C and a windchill of -23. The wind was a challenge. I covered about 22 km in total again this time.

Here is the #RideauCanal #skating map for midday today. It is rated as "very good" end-to-end. I did skate it this morning and conditions are pretty good, with very few cracks, but some areas of rough ice here and there.

#Skating with a friend today on the #RideauCanal. The conditions were not too bad, surface a bit rough in places, but temp about -5°C or so and a SW wind blowing.

I think I skated about 22 km all told, which is not bad for the first time out this #winter

Being invaded is not a crisis in #Canada. What is a crisis is a #BeaverTails stand on the #RideauCanal that is closed!

I should note that by 1100 hrs it had opened, though, so crisis averted for today!
