Okay now for the Dromaeosaurs! There were some cool displays of these guys!
The findings are likely a new species closely related to Saurornitholestes.

Saurornitholestes

I love feathered dinosaurs they are so cool I hope I did them justice. I'm not completely satisfied with the legs or the other arm.

Happy #FossilFriday from this dinky Saurornitholestes tooth that I found in the Judith River Formation.

Now if only I could find a whole raptor attached to one of these someday.

A magnified view of the serrations. The hook-shaped denticles on the distal carinae is a distinct characteristic that distinguishes these saurornitholestines from the contemporary dromaeosaurid, Dromaeosaurus albertensis, as well as young tyrannosaurs individuals of Gorgosaurus or Daspletosaurus.

A dinosaur tooth of an indeterminate saurornitholestine dromaeosaurid, possibly Saurornitholestes langstoni or Bambiraptor feinbergi from the Judith River Formation in Fergus County, Montana, USA. #FossilFriday

Monochrome portrait of Saurornitholestes langstoni, a dromaeosaurid from the Late Cretaceous of North America. It's known by many fossils, including almost complete skeleton. The relatively boxy skull of this specimen was described in 2019. Keratinous snout tip is speculative.

Did you know? Dr. Hans-Dieter Sues named several of your favorite dinosaurs 🦖 including Anzu, Saurornitholestes, and Zephyrosaurus?

He has a genus of pachycephalosaur named for him--Hansuessia!

I'm just imagining people treating them like those Italian greyhounds with sweaters. Small species like Saurornitholestes or V. mongoliensis.

Apparently U of Alberta has this fossil?! Those of us who have worked on trying to reconstruct North American Dromaeosaurs would have had our jaws drop if we knew there was an articulated mummy of Saurornitholestes!!!
I hope that it is OK that I repost these photos that I think I found on X.

Expecting a raptor today...

Mute swans weigh about 10kg. That's as much as a really big red fox.
It's also an average estimated weight of a Saurornitholestes. Which had VERY strange, wafer-like forearm bones, and the rear legs of some of its smaller relatives were definitely wings.

If a bird of say 15kgs can fly...???

Drawing info: The organization known as the saurian patrol uses this facility to clone saurornitholestes sullivani for there use in the task force because of there keen sense of smell.

I used pinterest Lab ych art, a beast of mesozoic saurornitholestes figure, and a google picture as a reference for the drawing base idea for drawing ✏️💡.

"A pack of Saurornitholestes being interrupted in their daily trek by a strange slender creature. The male bravely sneaks forward to investigate."

Experimental art done to test out some new methods, somethig I'd like to expand on! My own photograph. Do not steal.

My paleofiction storybook Pterosaur Trouble depicts a pack of Saurornitholestes (small theropod dinosaurs) actively hunting the giant pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus. That’s the most spectacular interpretation of a real fossil find—of a single Saurornitholestes tooth stuck in a big pterosaur bone. Weird?

A Quetzalcoatlus being bothered by some Saurornitholestes, for some reason decided I wanted to paint it head on which gave me nightmares with the limbs when it already is such a funky looking creature to begin with. #paleoart #dinosaurs #sciart

Another paleoart piece; somewhere in late Cretaceous Canada, this Saurornitholestes has been ‘treed’ by a couple of young Gorgosaurus. #paleoart #gorgosaurus #saurornitholestes #tyrannosaur #dromaeosaur #dinosaur #dinosaurs #watercolor #traditionalart #painting

oh fuck yeah. I have two of the CB raptors in a box, just never had anywhere to display them yet

Something morbidly satisfying drawing dead dinos in the same pose as a fossil of said dino. Take this Saurornitholestes for example based on a beautiful specimen kept in the University of Alberta!
