- hardware (mainly because of the drivers)
- is your current usage of a computer compatible with linux
- would you be fine with alternatives for softwares you're used to that aren't available on linux

I had to buy a new capture card (because of missing driver issues with the old one) so that's also something so consider, hardware is important when choosing an OS and for the softwares currently the only one that I don't have an alternative currently is Ableton

I'm not really a gamer but the few games I played ran fine, I don't play games often on my computer though but I heard gaming on linux improved a lot these last years but that's something to consider when deciding to quit windows

despite some limitations (I can't use some softwares) I'm overall very happy with this decision, it's very very nice for me since I spend most of my time on visual studio code and that's the first reason why you should move to linux, if you're a developer this will be good for you
