I might get a tattoo of this sentence:

a state full of ordinary people — real estate agents, high school students, solar energy consultants — who’ve decided that watching their neighbors being dragged away is an intolerable sin.
I went to Minneapolis last week. What I saw was horrifying and inspiring in equal measure. Gift link to my latest column: www.nytimes.com/2026/01/19/o...

Donald Trump says China doesn’t have wind energy.

Reality check: China installed more than half of all new wind and solar added globally last year.
Facts matter.

Should have mentioned: it’s about solar energy (mostly). Actual hope for at least stopping global warming! And how SMART nations are going into it in a big way, while our leaders keep their heads buried in oil sands. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Energy costs are through the roof. People need opportunities to lower their bills & take control of their energy future. Heat pumps & plug-in solar installations are key strategies. We need way more of both & I introduced two bills to help get us there.
California bills would cut red tape for balcony solar and heat pumps
State Sen. Scott Wiener wants to tackle energy affordability by making it easier than ever for households to adopt increasingly popular clean-energy tech.

Optical spectroscopic observation of these polarons (local distortions caused by coupling of charge carriers to lattice vibrations) in inorganic semiconductors is a big step towards better understanding how we can improve solar energy conversion efficiencies 🌞.

Yep and something like a green energy transition would also be problematic for the value of the dollar. Esp since then energy imports would be eg batteries and solar panels from China, who have a strong interest in replacing the dollar for international trade.

China is leveraging new quality productive forces to solve the world-class challenge of providing green electricity to hundreds of millions of people. In the first episode of #FutureChina, you will see how Chinese engineers deploy 14,500 heliostats in the Gobi Desert of Northwest China to reflect solar energy, store energy through molten salt "super batteries" to achieve 24-hour power supply, transmit electricity across 3,000 km to eastern China in just 0.01 seconds and light up 400 million lamps simultaneously in a single day.

Solar power costs $1300 per kW, nuclear power costs $6500 per kW. You can build about 5x the energy capacity in solar as nuclear for the money. Nuclear is rarely profitable. Solar rarely blows up contaminating air, land, and water for hundreds of years.
#RealityCheck
Nuclear power is closer to coming to Indiana as the state Senate’s utility committee passed legislation that would shape how permits are issued to nuclear-powered generating facilities and fuel reprocessing plants.
