Watching Ina make spanakopita with my toddler and husband. Husband: "I think I just don't like cooked spinach."

This is true. Spanakorizo, spinach and orzo, spinach in a frittata -- he likes all of it. So we will continue to eat cooked spinach 🤣

Spanakorizo – a classic Greek dish which is literally translated as spinach-rice. There are subtle variances to the dish, depending on the household and my twist is to top it/marry it with shrimp.

Sunday dinner: chicken leg marinated with lemon, garlic, and yoghurt and then roasted, with spanakorizo (rice cooked with onion, garlic, spinach - or rather cavolo nero, because that’s what I’d got) and feta.

haha door onze discussie gaat het niet meer lukken om mijn legendarische Spanakorizo te maken. Het wordt een pannetje soep met brood. Morgen maak ik wel de Spanakorizo.

Nou, door een intense maar bevredigende discussie hier op bluesky is er niets terecht gekomen van de Spanakorizo, dus dan ga ik maar een bakkie soep met brood maken. Morgen en overmorgen eet ik dan wel Spanakorizo :)

Tried making Spanakorizo - Spanakopita Rice - last night. A miserable failure! Edible but far too dense & not very interesting. Far less appetising than pea risotto or risi e bisi.
Don't know whether to abandon the idea or to try again with an adapted recipe.

Ik wilde voor de belanghebbenden een foto plaatsen vd Spanakorizo met gerookte makreel, maar ik bedenk me dat ik geen kabeltje meer heb om de foto te uploaden :(
