I have, or maybe now 'had,' a master matrix of conference team-vs-team last-win home/away splits and enjoyed it on the rare occasions I replaced an entry from the 1990s or even earlier. I don't know how or if I'd deal with it now besides creating a supergrid of every pre-2021 power team.

Your thinking is outdated. The future will be microgrids (albeit with exceptions). Communities will run mostly off of local energy resources. The idea that we need to have a supergrid or whatever is a throwback to the early 20th century.

There is a good argument that we need north-south HVDC to bring solar to higher latitudes in winter, and east-west HVDC to "time-shift" solar to places where it's too early or too late, plus local batteries.
I also think we should start creating an international HVDC supergrid about now. N-S & E-W.
