banjo had a lock-and-key design philosophy that was very much an extension of rare's ZX Spectrum roots. its world isn't meant to be a free-form toybox, but rather a puzzle to be solved. Dizzy the Egg with an extra dimension

Its like looking at the OSR, the artistic community and blogs and homebrews attempting to change or fix various editions of dnd, and creating an environment that curates this... while missing out on creating yourself the "toybox" style of game.

A long while back, I used to help hook up indies with penny arcade to design and create pinny arcade pins. It was really fun and I got to meet a bunch of lovely people.
There were so many cool people I worked with, but the Firewatch, Shovel Knight and Thimbleweed Park pins are some of my favourites

On Friday I paid a visit to Toybox Preschool in Ansford and Castle Cary. Sadly, Employers’ National Insurance hikes and other spiralling costs mean that they are struggling to survive. I will keep fighting the cost-of-doing-business crisis to ensure nurseries like Toybox can keep their doors open.

Finally AAAd Toybox Factory ESP after a year or two. I can never seem to get the ending drill right but I'm actually decent on the first drill now. Also played some SMX yesterday. Might just be the songs I played but I can notice a difference between wild 23 and 24 lol.
