Aaaa, this is excellent. Hot *and* super affirming!! I like giving my transmasc characters absolutely huge t-dicks (like, ~4-5in). It's wishfulfillment on my part, but also genuinely affirming, (especially considering that, while rare, it *is* possible, so it keeps me hoping, haha)

Yeah, a lot of problems seem to stem from passive interaction where it's just pure wishfulfillment without critical engagement and or "usage in a vacuum" where LLMs are your only source of inquiry. Epistemic hygiene sounds like a useful frame here.

The danger in context of AI-companions stems, once again, from it's inherent capacity for wishfulfillment. These fantasies kidsuddenly don't stay in a rule based communicative back and forth play with other kids, but becomes a rabbit hole in which they can indulge themselves with this stuff.

What seems striking to me that all of these sloptimization-genres and their psychologies are related to a heightened sense of self, to a feeling of superiority. This is not surprising for wishfulfillment.

This can also be read as a self-radicalization-loop in which engagement incentives on socmed creates deliberate confirmation bias and then you channel your felt superiority through AI-generated wishfulfillment.

What interests me here is recursive optimization. AI is trained on language on the web which is already optimized for engagement. The training of AI is an optimization algorithm itself, and it's ragebaity wishfulfillment-output closes an optimization feedback loop.

It should be possible to categorize genres of reactive outrage by the psychologies of desire, triggered by generative AI functioning mainly as a wishfulfillment machine to channel reactionary impulse. When Trump shits on his populace from a bomber jet, this is some subgenre of resentment.
Online reaction economies are largely driven by outrage, cringe & paranoia. As #AISlop is optimized to generate engagement, its emerging genres can probably be best distinguished by the ways they prompt specific affects & trigger certain reactions (including pseudo-forensic readings) #Sloptimization

Needless to say, i don't agree with ur stance that AI is "onboarding tech" for digital fascism. This is not what AI is. What the tech does is not neutral, yes, and fascists use it because it's fast and cheap wishfulfillment, but this doesn't make this new form of archival access inherently fascist.

I'm not even going to go into these depictions too much, as they are frankly a combination of wishfulfillment by people who are chronically online, and by people who are racists.
