classic lenses are sorta like the tessars, Goerz Dagor, Kodak Commercial Ektar, certain Wollensak, B&L stuff like that. Schneider and Rodenstock

I definitely want to get one with some actual control, yeah. But the lenses were pretty decent on those weren't they? Maybe not as good as the Wollensak lens on my Graflex but good for the time.

Me, posing with my creation, the Abracam.

A 16x16" #LargeFormat camera, with Wollensak Vitax 16" f/3.8 mounted.
Digital screen hangs off lens hood which helps me focus when doing a self-portraits.
No helicoid, no bellows, so focusing is done by moving subject, a millimeter at a time. 🤣

Some 99% isopropyl seems to have done the trick on the slow escapement…for now. We’ll see how long this lasts.

I don't often mention my band here as I try to avoid controversy given I make photo accessories for folks. But I'm very proud of how the song cover turned out!

Shot on Ektar 100 on my Chamonix 45F2 and Wollensak Velostigmat 150mm uncoated lens.

A TV with tubes that needed to be replaced like a light bulb. Later, a version with "rabbit ears" antenna.
A portable Wollensak reel-to-reel tape recorder.
Manual typewriter.

In other news: Testing a new to me Ciro 35. This is the pretty rare higher spec model, with a rapax synchromatic (instead of the alphax), and the ƒ/2.8 wollensak tessar design, instead of the ƒ/4.5 or ƒ/3.5 triplet design that other models used. So i’m expecting a little more of this.

The Wollensak Velostigmats f/4.5 lenses are excellent (and very underappreciated) Tessar designs. I'm a big fan.

bought this lens on the cheap a while back thinking I would cannibalize the shutter… but it's actually a pretty decent lens

I’m not a big fan of those Wollensak Studio shutters. They tend to be temperamental. My personal preference, for their really large lenses, is to get the barrel versions and pair them with a large Packard or Ilexpo shutter. Curious to see what you do with the Verito though.
