In the State of Georgia, it is now easier to buy a gun than it is to get a COVID booster vaccine.
Pretty crazy stuff.

What a great piece by @arstechnica.com: "This moment calls out for moral clarity and resolve. It asks universities to take their mission in society seriously and to resist being co-opted by government forces." arstechnica.com/culture/2025...
Resist, eggheads! Universities are not as weak as they have chosen to be.
Opinion: It’s time for public resistance.

Even when we’re cast as villains, those of us working in infectious diseases still have a vital role to play. In this reflection, I share how I’m continuing to show up for patients, for public health, and for the next generation even when it’s hard.

The DOJ lawyer who made the mistake of answering the court's questions about Abrego-Garcia candidly (eg yes he was mistakenly deported, a fact the Administration already has acknowledged), which got him put on administrative leave, has now been fired, ending his 15-year DOJ career..

Beside measles outbreaks, we are likely to see resurgence of:
- HIV
- Tuberculosis
- STIs (Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea)
- A worse flu season
- other vaccine preventable diseases.
Because that's what happens when you gut public health, defund research and promote vaccine misinformation.

We expected hundreds of thousands of people yesterday.

Instead, millions of Americans flooded the streets to demand an end to Trump’s authoritarian power grab.

Trump and Musk have spent their first 75 days in office trying to overwhelm us and make us feel powerless, but we’re not going anywhere.

Only 1 fatality is a remarkable feat.🤞
