Lead moveable type for printing used to be stored in large wooden drawers in cases.

Capital letters (or majuscules) were stored in the UPPER CASE.

Miniscules were stored in the LOWER CASE.

Century+ duration electronic data preservation is in fact an unsolved problem, but magnetic tapes set read-only are as close as we have right now. This is a massive, active research problem at Amazon, Google, Microsoft, others. www.microsoft.com/en-us/resear... Some tape can be replaced, not all.

For a next with far less pain: as soon as you feel any sign of attack, take 400mg of Ibuprofen and double up 6 hrs later. Repeat until cured. (Usually just a day, or two, if you're in time with treatment.) But talk to your GP first! There may be reasons why you should take Colchicine instead of Ibu.

Nope, those novelists weren't lying. I feel your pain, having gout as a returning 'friend' myself. A load of NSAIDs will get you through, or barring that for any reason, a load of Colchicine. They didn't prescribe you anything like that?
