If there is not a truth commission of some sort when this is all over, the U.S. is a morally bankrupt society.
34 people killed in 50 days. Their guilt or innocence unknown, for an alleged crime that doesn't carry a death sentence. That's a lot of death.

Whenever you hear someone invoke the unitary executive, remember the image below.

This was an inevitable result of the unitary executive theory:
Empowering a president to tyrannically destroy institutions that ensured our government reflects the rule of law rather than his personal whim.

Extremely ominous, once we realize that, by “what happened in the 2020 election”, he means “we lose an election”…
Trump: "We can never let what happened in the 2020 election happen again. We just can't let that happen. I know Kash is working on it, everybody is working on it. And certainly Tulsi is working on it. We can't let that happen again to our country."
Wait, is that what it’s going to look Iike? Dear gods.

At some point we just have to accept the right has already seceded from the rest of us right?
The White House is going to have a Spanish tile roof and golf course on the south lawn before this is all over.

the president has destroyed the east wing of the white house without so much as a word of input from anyone else to build a royal ballroom paid for with bribes
NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.

Democrats should be drawing up legislation right now, this very minute, to bar Trump from helping himself to $230 million in taxpayer funds from DOJ. Challenge Republicans to hold a vote on it. Push this so hard in the media that every GOP Senate and House candidate is pressed to comment on it.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

shocked to learn that the president lied about this and also this is a horrible defacing of a building that belongs to the people of the United States, not donald trump
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

Governor Walz was on to something, but I like this more: extremists, fraudsters and weirdos. Time to put this framing of MAGA front and center.
The chasm between the traditional Republican assertion of representing “normal” America and the assortment of extremists, fraudsters, and weirdos in positions of influence and power has become brutally stark. It is time to pounce.
Only took you to paragraph 15 to mention what this is really about.
Starbucks advertising pumpkin spice whatever is an even greater abomination during the southern hemisphere spring.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
Need to run down the clock.
I seriously wonder if he’ll ever be able to leave the country after he’s out of office.

The next administration--which, God willing, will be sane--should try Trump for murder. The insane, politicized, wholly-made-up Supreme Court immunity decision should be overridden--Congress should legislate sensible immunity rules, and strip courts' jurisdiction to review.
Colombia: “US government officials have committed a murder and violated our sovereignty in territorial waters”

“Fisherman Alejandro Carranza had no ties to the drug trade and his daily activity was fishing.”

“The Colombian boat was adrift and had its distress signal up due to an engine failure.”

Don’t let the frogwater that’s boiling us alive let you skip over this: we murdered another country’s citizens in cold blood, and when their leader objected, we called him a drug dealer and cut off aid to his country. That’s freakish.
Petro objected to the US bombing a Columbian fishing vessel that had the emergency beacon on because they were broken down, that we subsequently bombed. One Columbian fisherman survived the attack.

This is the official US response to Petro's comments.
Paul Ryan is going to have a sad.

Find a No Kings protest Saturday and go!

Don't worry that you've never been to a protest before. Don't worry about being dressed wrong or looking out of place. Don't worry that you don't agree about everything -- or even about much -- with lots of people at the protest.
