RULES FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY
BAN ON LIARS AND DIRTY FACES
Strict rules, which have been approved by the Hertfordshire County Council, are to be imposed by the Hyde Institute Library, Barnet Vale.

LIBRARY USERS iN FUTURE MUST NOT:
Enter the library if their faces are offensively dirty.
Fall asleep on the tables.
Eat their lunches whilst reading papers, books, &c
Smoke in the building.
Leave their business cards behind.
Make themselves a nuisance.
Kick or damage the furniture.
Bring dogs within the portals.
Tell lies to the librarian.
Enter when they are in an inebriated con- dition.
If they have small-pox.

Entlassungen, ja - und die entsprechenden Gesetzesänderungen sollten wir vorantreiben.
Mit "Ähnliches" meinte ich oben aber, dass sich ein Forscher nach öffentlichem doxxing mit Familie aus dem Land absetzt und an der Ausreise gehindert wurde.

Sie ist unscheinbar, aber zentral für die Forschungsfinanzierung: die DFG-Programmpauschale. Ende 2025 läuft sie aus – ohne neue Bund-Länder-Vereinbarung wäre sie weg. Jetzt gibt es Bewegung, doch die versprochene 30%-Erhöhung bleibt wohl Wunsch.

That is also why you see so many universities hiring only contract, adjunct, or lecturer positions, all positions that have zero protection for faculty who might get threatened for their research, and the uni can fire them at will. To be clear, Dr. Bray is NOT fired, he left for his/family's safety.

Those years helped to firm up ideas of what the parameters of "academic freedom" needed to be, though. That is why professors now are always insisting on the importance of tenure. Tenure is supposed to provide certain protections so that you can speak and write about your research freely.

Funfact: die selbe Union, die jetzt den Begriff Veggiwurst verbieten lässt, hat sich vehement für den Erhalt des Begriffs Apfelwein verkämpft, als der mal kurz in der EU wegen des vereintlich irreführenden Namensteiles -Wein- in der Kritik stand, da im Apfelwein halt keine Trauben enthalten sind.
