My LinkedIn profile change was devastating to her. As friends, former coworkers, etc. worldwide found out and questioned it. Of my followers there, less than a third came to my new profile. I was a topic of conversation worldwide and she took it personally. Why?

Even November 1st was controversial in exes eyes, I had said November months back as I wanted to spend the holidays as me. She thought, fr whatever reason it would be into November. It was my schedule, with did a week or 3 matter? Thanksgiving?

Overall I spent more therapy hours on all that compared to transition.

I had always liked to win, tough for a shy person. I finagled my way to a top university. Got a career traveling the world, wife, 2 kids.

Then I lost the cancer lottery. I nearly died.

I lived a good life but held back afterwards. But I decided to come out. If you beat the odds, then go for broke.

October spookiness.

My boss didn't know what to call me as I subtly changed things. Agreeing on a coming out date gave him certainty in the process. I had informed my bosses many months before. They were way cool.

I had planned to come out November 1st per agreement with my ex, but Coming Out Day caused me to speed things up some. It became a cascade and by October 23 I had come out at work.

Remembering back to the time when I came out as trans on Coming Out Day 2020 and I didn't even know the significance of the day until a year later, lol.

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

Amy and I agreed to not have heavy regrets. They are not actionable and eat precious resources. We wouldn't be us if we'd done things differently, likely never have met which is a non starter.
