🏳️‍⚧️ Every UK GIC's waiting list times, based on painstaking FOIs and research, are now available as part of our new investigation.

Most Trans+ people in the UK will wait more than a third of their adult life, and some will never receive care. Understand why:

Covid has never gone away, and it's not just a cold. My infection in 2022 left me permanently disabled after previously being fit and healthy. Get boosted, and wear a mask in busy public spaces, especially public transport and hospitals. Not sure where to find a mask? Ask @edinmaskbloc.bsky.social!

After a long pause, I've just done another England Covid & NHS update as we head into the autumn/winter season.

TLDR: we're in a significant Covid wave now, the NHS is stretched, get boosted if you're eligible.

Also, if you're "in bed with flu", it's almost certainly Covid.

All the firms I have advised have now understood that this is "guidance" and they don't have to follow it. The law does not require you to provide spaces that are inclusive only of "biological sex". Carry on as before.

Despite the fact that vaccines have saved millions of lives and RFK Jr made promises that he was not anti-vaccine when he was confirmed as HHS and pledged to maintain vaccines and science integrity he is systematically going back on that promise #ImmunoSky 🧪🧵
How RFK Jr is systematically undermining vaccines around the world
Vaccines saved 154 million lives. But as fear of disease fades, so does protection – raising the chilling prospect of a return to the pre-vaccine era.

Can't have kids er... (checks notes)... reading quietly in public? That sounds dangerous, they might become informed about their human rights and how they're being repeatedly violated!

In response to this protest, the city council has shut down the entire building to visitors for the day. An absolutely wild decision.

I grew up under Section 28 and this horrific policy is already doing untold damage. Pandering to the most bigoted minorities in order to gain a handful of votes is going to spectacularly backfire for Labour.

Studies like this one, which includes information about the devastating impact that developing ME/CFS has on quality of life, also show the importance of public health measures like vaccines and wearing masks in public spaces to avoid airborne pathogens. 5/5
beehockin.bsky.social
I'm also one of the 729 participants who reported that they developed ME/CFS following a COVID-19 infection, a disease that is unfortunately still around and disabling people with Long COVID every day. Many pwME report developing it after a viral infection (flu, COVID, glandular fever). 4/5
beehockin.bsky.social
ME/CFS has no known treatments, and the diagnostic process is a lengthy one of elimination due to the poor understanding of its causes. Very few people recover from ME/CFS. A dataset like this paves the way for future research into possible treatments that I wasn't sure we'd see in my lifetime. 3/5
beehockin.bsky.social
It's validating to see confirmation that none of the genes linked to ME/CFS relate to anxiety or depression, something that too many pwME have heard from doctors, well-meaning family members, and random strangers who want to give us the advice that maybe if we do yoga we'll stop feeling so tired 2/5
