That's the context it came up in! I've never quite believed everyone thought mermaids were real...

Probably nothing you don't know already, to be honest! The most interesting thing for me was a reference to William of Rubruck who had confirmed that dog-headed creatures didn't exist in China by the time the Mappa was made.

Cora Beth has spent the last year putting together what sounds an amazing app to support parents of children with #autism. Please do share and let folks know this is out there - as she explains in her blog post, she has been uniquely positioned to create this much-needed resource.

Took my 7 year old nerd to a talk about the Mappa Mundi at the #CheltLitFest. Amy Jeffs led a clever, engaging group of female panellists, and my daughter sat still for an entire hour which says something about the quality of speakers! Did she take it all in? Probably not, but I think that's okay.

Made my jumper about two years ago. Spent ages choosing colors and not sure it's a combo I have seen before. So very much feeling like a trendsetter to walk past this in a shop window!
Me in dark green jumper with yoke of diamonds in spring green, light blue, copper and ice blue. Toast website with mohair jumper, dark green with wide multicoloured fair isle yoke Close up on middle of Toast jumper which has diamonds in spring green and light blue.

Printed a tote bag for each daughter. Apparently they will take a week to dry!
Two small tote style bags. One is white and has printed images of animals playing instruments, with a border and bird coming out of two leaves. Shades of pink, yellow, red, orange. The other is yellow with many green leaves at the bottom and a bird on a branch singing into a blue moon.

Wrote a strongly worded email, which achieved the desired result, and yet I still feel guilty about it. Sigh.

Just thinking about Taylor Swift's Easter eggs and how much fun it would be to get her to come do our escape room. I could totally make that happen, right? I mean, a sister in Kansas City has to come in handy, right?

Days with incunabula are always better. I love the little stick animal at the back of this crowd around Augustine. A glorious early title/half title page from 1494. HCL C.8.14 (ISTC ia01308000)
Title page of Augustine's sermons. Some hand written additions. Close up of opening illustration from Augustine's Sermons. Augustine in foreground, small people and stick animals in background.

Hey a thing I really don’t want to get lost here is that while Tylenol doesn’t cause autism, IT’S FINE TO BE AUTISTIC. Let’s not grant them the premise that autism should be eradicated in our way to correct the science, okay? Okay.

#NotMyCat, but we call him Todd. He likes to hang around our house.
