I belong to the camp of #Strictly viewers who feels that it's a show about people with limited or no dance experience learning a new skill, and thus feel quietly satisfied with that result. Although obviously it's sad for the pro that they don't get to power through.

I'm afraid that I'm still not loving this salsa-that-is-not-a-salsa. It's not an easy track to dance to, and I'm afraid I'm still not sold by this choreo. #Strictly

#Strictly While I'm sure this is hitting the demand of a certain audience segment, I am afraid that I am not it.

I typed this before I saw the chap with the seagull on his head and the Hello Sailor moment. And I still don't think I am it.

Oh, I did enjoy that take on Chicago. (Yes, I know it's toned down, but I am also watching with #puer and frankly I am grateful for not having to do as much explanation as I might otherwise have to do.) #Strictly

My friend's son was hit by a car whilst cycling yesterday outside Swindon. He is seriously injured. The car sped off and the police are looking for witnesses, particularly those with dashcams.

Please do share the article below if you're local to that area:

Thread on how to detect ai in that viral dog video
Yeah, I mean, I'm critical of any video nowadays that is trying to elicit an emotional response, especially when it's asking for subs at the end. It's weird that all the people seem to end up with the dog they want. And shelters are overflowing, where are the rooms full of people wanting to adopt?

The view today from the vicarage doorstep!

🎶 O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain
And feel the promise is not vain
That morn shall tearless be. 🎶

And I say again … how will they enforce this?!? Do trans women have two heads? Will there be people there to ‘denounce’ anyone who - subjectively - ‘looks a bit too much like a ‘fella’’?!? The sheer crassness of it …

Semi-regular plug for @acts435.bsky.social. As part of your Advent preparation, if you have the capacity to help someone be warm and fed on Christmas day, this is a great way to make sure a donation gets to someone on the knife edge of poverty. Every little really does help.

Plans in utter disarray today, ironically giving me exactly what I needed instead of what I wanted. Making the most of it with an 8 hour Youtube video of Christmas-themed jazz and a cozy log cabin for accompanying visuals. #TinyJoys

I brought a pot of very dried-out lemon verbena & lemongrass inside just a couple of weeks ago, having assumed they wouldn’t survive the winter. But the lemongrass is greening at the base, and the verbena is putting out tiny new green shoots all along its branches! #TinyJoys!

Moving house continues to be exhausting and challenging, but last night, I took my daughter to a lovely local Christmas market, and today I unearthed a very old and battered favorite from my teenage years), so there are definite points of light every day. ❤️

Currently #reading The Mummy! A Tale of the Twenty-Second Century by Jane Loudon. Published in 1827. Really Quite Funny. We haven't got to the part where they galvanise the mummy just yet.

Good news - it ceased bucketing and has just been Very Windy With Drizzle. Still.
And of *course* it's started bucketing down in a really serious way just as I'm thinking about leaving the office. Ugh!
