I'm actually fine that Alan Kelly not voting for Catherine Connolly. It's only fair really. He's a Labour politician in my very right leaning rural home constituency, and I have never voted for him. Ideology will only get you so far before somebody's moral standards are tested. 🤷‍♂️

You had never heard of Marc Maron!?!?!?!? That honestly boggles my mind. He's a veteran of the American alt-comedy scene. The podcast archive is a treasure trove as well. Just have a scroll through it till you see somebody interesting and dive in.

The funniest thing about the Catherine Connolly smear campaign is that the establishment seems to be following Ivan Yates' advice, despite his impressive record of getting things spectacularly wrong, as highlighted on this old but evergreen tweet from @prayforpatrick.bsky.social

This is absolutely it. Watching Catherine Connolly it's clear that her morals and her character guide her choices, and she's happy to defend those choices rather than dodging and denying. It's incredibly refreshing for Irish politics actually.
