Finished @joeabercrombie.com's The Devils the other day. It's a fast read, in spite of its bulk, as well as deeply entertaining and wonderfully cynical.
It made me think of an inventive alt-history-with-monsters-and magic combo of The Magnificent Seven, The Dirty Dozen and Conan the Destroyer.
