this is more than just marching in full regalia to Broadview and praying outside of it

this is very deftly trapping ICE into the position of having to literally - LITERALLY, to them - turn Christ away from the door

any Catholic ICE officer was probably shook, I’m really not exaggerating

So yeah, no that's really what it's called. The Monstrance is usually only ever brought out on specific holy days for veneration during which it's displayed on the altar of the church (an altar btw which usually houses a holy relic)

Catholics believe it is actually Jesus, because transubstantiation

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

Hoping that the Mariners' success repairs the hole in reality caused by the cubs in 2016.

I know someone who used to work as an editor at Rick Steves Press and had nothing but kind things to say about him. Apparently he's the real deal.

Oh dear, we may need to go back to church councils for this one...

🤣 actually she swam the whole length of my brother in law's backyard pool on her back two years ago (badly, but she got there!) and was very out when I told her it didn't l count.

If I were a professional baseball player in extra innings at home during an elimination playoff game I would simply hit a home run instead of grounding into a double play.

Finished pruning and clearing brush in anticipation of the rainy season starting/doing another round of cardboard sheet mulching. Got buzzed by a hummingbird, swished at by a lizard whose house i disturbed and watched a pair of our local blue butterflies dancing around flowers. Better than tv. 🌱

The Virginia Senate just told UVA it’s not getting state funding if it accepts the compact since UVA exists to serve Virginia, its residents, & their interests—not be a tool of the federal govt. Her comfort object is a park exclusive pirate doll (long story). The character is a walk around character in Disneyland and I'm pretty sure she'll lose it (in the best way).
Plus she's got a a Redd costume, naturally.

I know they grow it in Salinas wnd they have it in the fancy grocery store near me, but I'm extremely "meh" about it because you can do the same things with broccoli and cauliflower without the fractal markup. I used to buy it in Germany when it was the same price/cheaper than the others.

Should get the readers' reports at the end of the month .

The thing about romesco broccoli is that it looks really cool but it tastes like cauliflower, so it's not worth paying extra for imo. It's fun though.

Those who DO learn from the past are doomed to yell "AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH" all the time

We did it in DLP, by just doing a couple rides (cars and ratatouille) and then switching gates. (Park hoppers come with onsite hotels at dlp)

Aesthetics are so important to establishing power and manufacturing consent (see my forthcoming book). If you disrupt their aesthetic program, you can begin to disrupt their political program.

As a protest optics nerd love about the inflatables is how much they visually disrupt and pull focus from the fascist shock imagery Noem & Miller are trying to create.

So many of these photos now look like the world's silliest dance party, backgrounded by a bunch of guys in uniform looking awkward

(thank you, btw. We used to go every year in my youth because my dad had to do things at UCLA but I haven't been to Anaheim since 2003. I went to dlp in 23 and it's way different)

So the same stovals inn I used to stay at as a kid? (Back then it was the cosmic inn). Cool cool. (Shame they got rid of all the cool decorations) I'm considering park hopping mostly because she LOVES the cars franchise.

And that doesn't even count things like some skip the line passes or extra add ons. I have a PhD! Research is my job! Figuring out a theme park visit shouldn't be harder than digging up 500 year old tabloids!
