Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, said it recovered the body of one Israeli captive and handed it to the Red Cross at 9 pm Gaza time (2 pm ET). Hamas has now recovered 18 Israeli captives. Israel claims 12 more are still buried under buildings Israel destroyed during the war.

Meanwhile, the occupation continues to block the entry of tents, mobile homes, and essential supplies into Gaza despite a ceasefire now in its third week. Food and water remain scarce, and hospitals still lack critical medical supplies, according to Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent Hani Mahmoud.

The Director of the Network of Civil Society Organizations in Gaza described the situation as “catastrophic,” saying the aid that has entered so far meets less than 10% of people’s needs. He said Gaza urgently requires 300,000 tents to shelter residents after over 1.5 million Palestinians lost their homes.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

The way chomsky talks of free will is akin to the same kind of criticism he leveled against behaviorist accounts of language. In this case, instead of speaking of our brains as mere black boxes that reward and punishment work on to produce linguistic behavior, he just says it's plainly evident 1/2
