Agree. It was a partial quote from a speaker quoting Jane Goodall. I think it was to counter the idea that hope is passive, which it isn’t, and what you describe feels active rather than passive.

Hope is not naïve. It is forged in struggle, in the voices of Women who endure, who rise, who speak.
Today we will hear from such Women.

FiliA aims to amplify the voices of women, particularly those who are silenced or unheard, and to defend women's human rights. But clearly, they shouldn't be allowed to discuss anything at all without the prior approval of trans activists.
