This is quite something to read:

"In total, the Scottish Government spent £766,498.80 of taxpayers money on these two judicial reviews."

I wonder how much they'll spend trashing women's human rights by trying to keep men in women's prisons.
We are pleased to confirm that full & final settlement has been reached with the Scottish Ministers regarding recovery of costs incurred in pursuing the JR.

The money has been retained to cover costs accrued in our JR on prisons & future challenges.

I have today been informed that, despite personal assurances to the contrary, the Green party have once again used my image and misrepresented my words on a second leaflet circulated in Gorton and Denton ahead of the by-election. I have now lodged an official complaint with the returning officer.

Short thread on our new paper. We use face mask efficacy research as a “stress test” for systematic review methods. We analysed 66 systematic reviews of face mask efficacy; they reached widely different conclusions (~half said they work, half said that evidence of efficacy was lacking). 1/

Wow. ‘Books’? The article is 58 libraries have *one* book about desisting and detransitioning.

Don’t worry. My local library has 30+ positive fiction/non-fiction books about being transgender and transitioning for adults/children/YA/parents plus ebooks/audiobooks on BorrowBox.

Of course, none of this is about increasing the birth rate or the tax take - it's about punishing women for the fact that white Western men feel a loss of status in a world where some members of other (and Other) groups are allowed limited access to the privileges they used to monopolise.

People with no children already pay more tax, because we get fewer transfers from the state. Think of just a mother's medical bills, or one year's school tuition. Women without children also do more care work than childless men, so we're probably the biggest net contributors to the welfare state.

'Career politicians' have not served UK people best over the decades, because they're detached from 'real life'. Yet there are people moaning that Starmer/others in Labour have no "political nous". Mate, you can't have it both ways. Either you have politicians with life experience or you don't.
