Ironically, we received three deeply thoughtful, extremely helpful reviews on that paper, from top people who signed their reviews, and are currently revising it accordingly. If peer review usually worked that way, we'd have nothing to write about at all!

Being there at all is deliberate provocation. They're not protecting anything. ICE could lie low, or leave entirely. But no, they want to incite a violent response to justify further violence.
