I can roll a joke along the ground forever, and I'm a professional problem-solver/paperwork-maker. I've meant to do this for a while to remind me that the world has good things and people keeping it going.

A tribute to @tkingfisher.com - St. Bluebell, and the Temple of the White Rat.

The notion that Trump's "I'm king" tweet is "just trolling" or "a joke" presents an opportunity to recreate my just-joking thread (porting it over from the Bad Place):

1. I wrote my PhD dissertation on the social function of humor (in literature & film) and here's the thing about "just joking."

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too.

EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them.

Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)
KNOW YOUR
RIGHTS
IN CASE OF ICE:
CONOCE TUS DERECHOS
EN CASO DE ENCUENTRO CON ICE: DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR.
ICE cannot enter your home without a warrant signed by a judge.
Tell the agents to show you the warrant by sliding it under the door.
NO ABRAS TU PUERTA.
ICE no puede entrar a tu casa sin una orden firmada por un juez. Diles a los agentes que te muestren la orden deslizándola debajo de la puerta. ASK THEM
TO LEAVE.
If ICE doesn't have a warrant, tell them you do not consent for them to enter your home and ask them to leave. At work, ICE cannot enter employee-only areas without permission.
2
REMAIN SILENT.
You have the right to remain silent.
If the agents ask you questions, tell them,
"I wish to remain silent."
PERMANECE EN SILENCIO.
Tienes derecho a permanecer en silencio.
Si los agentes te hacen preguntas, diles:
"Deseo permanecer en silencio".

Today's challenge: Every time you start spinning out in panic from reading the news or catching up on social media, put down the phone and spend 5 min. cleaning up/picking up/tidying/somehow improving your home environment.

And then notice how much of a difference your small effort can make.

It's all Catholic tradesmen and soldiers who married women built for cold winters and fat babies you can hitch to the plow when the ox dies.

Given the mix I suspect a lot of "soldier, you're GOING to marry my daughter."

I'm awake so you know what that means: auction posting! Don't let all these current top bidders sit all comfy til Monday. They might be sleepy right now, it's time to snipe! Their loss is your, and Trans Lifeline's, gain
Here's a few of my faves to tempt you

An ink painting of two black and white rabbits a water color scene of a city street. One of the people is wearing a dress in trans pride colors. Many of the businesses have "trans" in the name a cute little crochet hedgehog held in the palm of someone's hand. it has "spines" made of beads in rainbow stripes a beautiful necklace and earring set made of black freshwater pearls and star beads

Whoever needs to hear this today:

I believe in you. Its okay and there is always tomorrow.

One step at a time, you don’t have to finish it all at once. Every step forward, even when pushed back..is still a step forward. Rest when you need it, it’s more important than you know.

Youre doing great.

Rabbit and I physically can not leave. No one will have us. We have no choice but to stay and fight.

Casual reminder: Disabled People cannot flee the country.

We are considered a "drain of resources" on other healthcare systems, so other countries will NOT issue us visas.

The number of "Just flee" posts are increasing again, don't make me tap the goddamn sign.

We stay, and we fight.

I love it, and the books do talk about dancing mice being embroidered on things belonging to the Temple!

I have been reposting @tkingfisher.com's post about Saint Bluebell in the wake of the election, and the only regret I have is that there's not official art for either Saint Bluebell or the Order of the White Rat because I feel a tattoo coming on.

Hey, listen. I know the world's on fire. But listen. I'll tell you a thing. On the day after the election, when everything was worst and all I could do was go numb or cry hysterically, do you kno…

I love it when cat people post photos of their cats with captions like they are Lamborghinis. "Look at this masterpiece. Perfection. An unparalleled tour de force balancing style and performance."

I have done very gentle stealth costumes on Francie. Here she is a fried egg:
Color photo of my fluffy white cat Francie curled up asleep, forming a loose oval shape. On top of her is a circle cut out of yellow construction paper, it is the "yolk" to the "egg white" of her body.
