Feels like Jim Cummings was working thru some things he started with THUNDER ROAD and thought "why not a horror flick with some mystery elements?" and I'm really glad he did. Still darkly funny, still remarkably clear eyed in matters of character. The new wrinkles and directions suit his style.

Heard someone mention the movie Sneakers so I’m going to have to watch Sneakers again. One of the all time great movie casts: Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, River Phoenix, Dan Ackroyd, Sir Ben Kingsley, James Earl Jones, Howard Tobolowsky. One of the great hacker heist movies

Bought the new Pynchon in hardcover today, at our local indie bookseller, fulfilling two promises to self. Read the first few pages while waiting for our lunch sandwiches to be toasted in a nearby patisserie, immediately getting that in-for-a-good-read feeling.

I love that it doesn’t understand what happened to its hair.

Being introverted isn’t something to fix, it’s something to value. They can live alone, eat alone, travel alone, and still feel whole. It’s not loneliness, it’s peace. Most people wouldn’t get it

Couldn’t sleep last night so spent time browsing new quilt fabric and I feel that this was made just for me?
A dark blue quilt fabric with dancing carnival cats on it in pastel colors. Cats are riding unicycles, walking tight ropes and generally being silly little guys. The fabric line is Purr Parade by Art Gallery Fabrics.

Halloween is near! It's time to post this marvellous articulated Roman skeleton, presumably meant to be a reminder to enjoy life to the fullest, since pleasure ends irrevocably with death.
In Petronius’ Satyricon, the host of a dinner party brings out a small skeleton with moveable...🧵1/2

Honestly haunted by Bill Maher’s hair in an episode of Murder, She Wrote. Scarier than any Cronenberg body horror. The way it moved…there was a…lag. As though it had a mind of its own, but not a very smart one. I last saw this ep months ago

For every review of Wolf of Withervale that says, “Disgusting. The love interest is a fat man. I was repulsed and couldn’t finish it,” I also get messages saying, “As a large man (or lover of big men) I felt seen for the first time.” Fuck the haters—make the art that is for you and yours.

Let's have a little séance so we can thank the dead vultures who saved all these historical artefacts by nicking them for their nests!

One of my favorite Bowie albums!

Turntableau. I remember the cover being more vibrant blue on my copy when I was a kid, and the photo less gauzy. Should have kept it! But what did we know, CDs and such.
