MK is the one of the only places in the UK where I'd go down the 'this is Un-British rabbit hole'

The brilliant @privateeyenews.bsky.social captures British journalists and political commentators in a nutshell over their Nigel Farage and Reform Party UK Ltd obsession.
SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE ‘WILL BE PM TOMORROW’

IN an amazing poll conducted by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

It's weird. There were just no clues that this is what he was like.

Johnson refused to answer specific questions or to provide factual denials to allegations of rule-breaking, while insisting all the rules had been followed at all times. His responses led Acoba’s chair, Isabel Doverty, to find him in breach of the rules.

I mean yes, there's some robust academic evidence telling us this, but on the other hand there are a truck load of fascist engagement farmers on X telling me that the 50s were a crime free idyll. Who to believe?

Just reading through some old notes, seeing if there's anything in there worth salvaging. Within some rather mundane scribblings on community engagement I've seemingly written 'Racoon Cafe', and underlined it twice. 🤔

I am not sure if I am hallucinating this, but after I turned off LinkedIn's bullshit notifications on my phone, it seems to be sending the same notifications to my email instead, which is creating bullshit notifications on my phone. Die, LinkedIn, die?

If you want to win over younger voters, telling them they can't go to university is probably not going to help.

It never improves tbf. Our 6 year old loves both rice and pasta, so tonight we had orzo. No dice apparently.

The skill is accepting that this is the case, but not becoming paralysed into inaction as you break things down into smaller and smaller pieces, which invariably don't get any less complicated.

Someone who thinks 'policymaking is generally not very complicated' either does not know what they are talking about or has very strong ideological leanings that help disappear the trade-offs that worry the rest of us.

Maybe the answer to political apathy, trust, and populism is for everyone to be a local councillor for a few weeks.

Quite excited by this follow. 'Hymn' by Dreamfish (absolute banger btw) is my go to track when I have 30 minutes between Teams calls and want to get some focused work done.
