I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

Masking at conventions makes so much sense I don't know why we don't all do it. The chances of getting get sick at a con are so high we have a cute little name for it: "con crud." That its easy to get COVID at cons should come as no surprise. Why would you not want to protect yourself and others?

If you appoint an incompetent panel of political hacks, you get what you paid for. Good on CDC staff. I expect an absurd blowup from merchant of Death, Bobby.

It’s unclear whether all 12 panel members, who were handpicked by Kennedy, were aware that the move would undo his decision. Much of the panel’s two-day September meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, was marked by confusion as recently appointed members struggled with the procedures.ACIP Chair Martin Kulldorff did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did a spokesperson for HHS.
