I think it must be an American thing. Himself and I were in the US and he got snapped while walking our hosts’ dogs. The newspaper caption read “MC stated he was in Jackson on vacation” and for years afterwards we always made quote marks whenever we said “on holiday”.

With the greatest of respect @simonharrisireland.bsky.social You've listed to the right to try mop up the votes of people who burn down the only place some of the most vulnerable people can call home.

You're Nigel fucking Farage.

As an Irish person who was alive in 2008 I can confirm that private businesses only ask sovereign governments to guarantee their financing when business is going really, really well
BREAKING: OpenAI is requesting US government support to help guarantee financing for the massive investments in AI chips and data centers it needs for expansion, per Bloomberg.

I am far too ‘of my generation’ Irish. I thought this was about etiquette guides for sixth year students. “Ebooks”, I thought. “The notions of those young ones”.
the big debs ebooks are each two bucks right now too
A whole new generation is going to be reading about Eugene Debs this morning.

Read him from Haymarket in his own words.

why has the term Big Irish Head become so ubiquitous when 'Gael Skull' was right there all along
Oh they’re lovely, aren’t they. I’m in Darkest West, so can’t get to Dublin, but their online service is brilliant - so quick.

We have progressed from data collection to data analysis.
Oh yes. We’d hang an apple in the doorway and try to eat it. And we’d peel an apple, hopefully in one piece, throw it over the RIGHT shoulder and see the initial of our future spouse. There was also something with mirrors but I wasn’t old enough to be allowed to play.

I CANNOT like this. The crisps should be Tayto (or Walkers, since you live in the foreign). The bread should, ideally, be from a sliced batch loaf NOT whatever healthy excrescence that is. And too few crisps - the objective is equal layers of crisp and bread.

I will light a candle for you.
I wanted to dance it but could never quite get the steps right. 🙁
They’re trolling him. Quite blatantly.

And people say the British press doesn't know anything about Ireland. They got this scoop, didn't they.

The constitution worked perfectly. It kept grifters, layabouts, and the ultra entitled off the ballot paper, and saved us weeks of racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and transphobic dog whistles in the process.

You wanted to be on the ballot? You had 7 years to figure out your plan. #spoofers #aras25
Well no. She went with the fib about her campaign director, and doubled down on the cab rank rule, and argued that she really didn’t have to use Irish as minister for the Gaeltacht (even though she’d promised to learn it). That’s not the actions of a “decent” woman. So, sorry, but no.

Don’t be complacent - get out and vote - we’re being told it’s in the bag so people aren’t voting😢
I love audiobooks, I really do. I can accomplish so much while listening to them: knitting, housework, cooking. But occasionally I’m BOUNCED out of bookworld by mispronunciation. Today’s one is “berrybond”. That’s NOT how to pronounce “beribboned”, and nit even the divine Welsh accent will save you.
It’s very Lady Catherine de Bourgh, isn’t it? I mean “ If I had ever learnt [to play an instrument], I should have been a great proficient.”.
