Like cmon, EA is right there. Kongregate pivoted to AI not long after killing off its art team (after shelling millions in NFTs).

Now the company behind Calisto Protocol is going Ai-first. Are customers just supposed to play $100 for games no one made? That sounds pretty unrealistic.

I dont think calling people whiny babies for literally being priced out of playing video games is fair, good or even a correct point to make when many C-Suite execs mindlessly, stupidly throw money at the latest tech fab and then reabsorb the salaries made from letting go their employees.

AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

The real annoying thing about this discourse is there have never been more free or low-cost video game options available. It's really only the very top end of big budget games where the asking price is going up marginally (at a slower rate than inflation, too)
